BRUSH PICK-UP

Brush pick-up will begin in April and continue through September.  Pick-up will be done on the First and Third Monday's of the month.  Brush is defined as chopped-off tree branches and low, woody growth such as brushes and small trees.  Hired tree service work, stumps, bushes, ivy and construction material will not be accepted.  To serve the community better, the Village service department is asking residents to place brush on the curb, with all cut ends pointed toward the street. Tree limbs should be no larger than 3 inches in diameter and not longer than six feet in length. Thorny materials must be bundled separately into bundles not larger than one foot in diameter and tied securely with cotton or string.  City crews will not clean up jobs done by professional tree service companies.

There is no drop-off site for brush in the city.  If there are available wood chips, they will be available to the public free of charge at the Village Barn.

This has become a very popular program in the community and has grown steadily each year.  The department requests that residents use this program for spring or fall branch cleanup only and not for complete tree removal.

LEAF PICK-UP

Leaf pickup in the Village of Fayette will be from the second Monday of October through the first Monday of December.  At this time, three pickups per street are planned, weather permitting.

The Leaf Pickup program is for leaves only.  Leaves mixed with other debris such as branches, trash or other vegetation will not be picked up.  Please do not rake leaves into the street or ditches.  This causes clogging of the storm sewer system and could create serious street flooding problems during periods of heavy rain.

Inclement weather conditions could cause variations in the collection schedule.  Residents are requested not to park in the street during their leaf pickup days, as this could hamper leaf pickup.  Leaves will not be picked up on private streets.

The Street Department starts the leaf pick-up on the northwest side of the Village, then do the northeast side, the southeast side, and then do the southwest side.  The leaf pick-up then continues at the beginning on the northwest side.
